MBDA Bolton is seeking an experienced Test Development Engineer specializing in circuit card electronics to join the Test Development team at our Bolton site. You will create and maintain small to medium-sized automated test systems and lead development of test strategies in line with a test specification.

You’ll design Interchangeable Test Adapters (mechanical and electrical) and develop software for automated test sequences, with opportunities to engage in continuous improvement and new

• Experience in designing analogue and digital circuits.
• Proven track record creating automated test equipment.
• Familiarity with NI LabVIEW and TestStand is preferred.

Salary

Up to £43,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working

3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

The opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Test Development Engineer, specialising in circuit card electronic test, to join our Test Development team at our Bolton site.

Working in an established team as a Test Development Engineer you'll be creating and maintaining small to medium-sized automated test systems.

You’ll be responsible for the development and implementation of test strategies and, where appropriate, influencing our product through ‘Design for Test'. This involves creating test strategy documents, designing Interchangeable Test Adaptors (including both mechanical and electrical elements) and software development of automated test sequences in accordance with a test specification.

You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved with continuous improvement activities and the development of new technologies.

What we’re looking for from you:

• Sound understanding of fundamental analogue and digital circuit design.
• Experience of creating and using technical documentation and Drawings i.e. Schematics, PCB layouts, Engineering Drawings.
• Significant experience creating Automated Test Equipment.
• Experience of using NI LabVIEW and/or TestStand preferable.
• Experience in Boundary Scan / XJTAG preferable.
• Strong problem solving skills with an exceptional eye for detail.
• Strong analytical skills and passion for driving continuous improvement, with six sigma experience desirable.
