Job summary

MBDA UK in Bolton is seeking an experienced Test Development Engineer specializing in Circuit Card electronic test. You will join a Test Development team, creating and maintaining automated test systems, developing test strategies, and contributing to design-for-test improvements.

The role offers hybrid working and a clear path through challenging projects from concept to production. The ideal candidate has strong analogue/digital circuit knowledge, experience with ATE, and skills in

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of fundamental analogue and digital circuit design.
• Experience creating and using technical documentation and drawings (schematics, PCB layouts, engineering drawings).
• Significant experience creating Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
• Experience using NI LabVIEW and/or TestStand preferable.
• Experience in Boundary Scan / XJTAG preferable.
• Strong problem solving skills with an exceptional eye for detail.
• Strong analytical skills and a passion for driving continuous improvement; Six Sigma experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain small to medium-sized automated test systems.
• Develop and implement test strategies; influence design for test where appropriate.
• Design Interchangeable Test Adaptors (mechanical and electrical) and software for automated test sequences.
• Develop test documentation and test strategy documents.

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Test Development Engineer, specialising in circuit card electronic test, to join our Test Development team. It is an exciting time as we begin work on a host of challenging, but rewarding projects, from concept design through to series production and full in-service support!

Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on experience Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Test Development Engineer, specialising in Circuit Card electronic test, to join our Test Development team at our Bolton site. Working in an established team as a Test Development Engineer you’ll be creating and maintaining small to medium-sized automated test systems. You’ll be responsible for the development and implementation of test strategies and, where appropriate, influencing our product through ‘Design for Test’. This involves creating test strategy documents, designing Interchangeable Test Adaptors (including both mechanical and electrical elements) and software development of automated test sequences in accordance with a test specification. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved with continuous improvement activities and the development of new technologies.

What we're looking for from you:

• Sound understanding of fundamental analogue and digital circuit design.
