TRUMPF United Kingdom in Hedge End, near Southampton, seeks a Test Development Engineer to provide software support for production lines. You will develop software and databases, collaborating with mechanical, hardware and R&D teams to resolve issues and drive new NVI/NPI software projects.
Proficiency in LabVIEW for production testing is essential; knowledge of Matlab, VB.net and VB6 is advantageous. This is an on-site role within our Southampton-area operations.

This is a full-time, on-site Test Development Engineer role based in Hedge End, Southampton. As a software engineer reporting to the Operations Test Team manager, you will be responsible for providing software support for the various Trumpf production lines in Southampton.
You will also be required to provide software support to other areas of business such as our services/quality, R&D and external customers where applicable.
Your role includes but not limited to software development, database or stored procedure related tasks, software work planning, etc. You will be able to investigate and resolve any software bugs in a timely manner.
You will be working alongside Mechanical / Hardware engineers in the operations test engineering team to deliver software solutions, whilst also collaborating with our R&D department for new NVI /NPI software development work.
Degree qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline, or equivalent through experience and alternative technical qualifications.
Hardworking, well organised and someone who can manage workloads with little guidance.
Capable of adapting to changing priorities, and able to work well under pressure.
Good fault finding and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss complex issues with staff at all levels.
Ability to work well in a team of engineers and technicians.
