Job description

We are recruiting for a Test Design Support Engineer for a leading Defence organisation based in Bolton.

Ideally, you will have current SC Clearance; if not, you must be eligible to obtain it.

We have a phenomenal opportunity for experienced Electronic Design Engineers to play a leading role in supporting production activities at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

Working within Production Design Support (PDS) is a highly rewarding role, as you will see designs come to life in the manufacturing environment and help shape the design of products and test equipment, delivering support to our customers.

Responsibilities

You will act as the interface between our design teams and manufacturing teams, working alongside other support engineers to provide knowledge and support.

The primary focus is on highly advanced missile module programmes and subsystems, with opportunities to support launcher assemblies and other unique projects.

This role offers a true engineering challenge in your core discipline(s), with scope for personal growth and development in other areas of electronics.

Skillset required:

Candidates should demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience in designing products/systems and supporting designs through manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in the design of:
  • Digital and Analogue electronics
  • Power Electronics
  • RF & Antenna
  • Interconnects
  • Safety Electronics
  • Test Systems
  • Schematic design
  • PCB Design
  • Adherence to BS EN Standards
  • Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, with an awareness of challenges and opportunities, and a passion for innovation and collaboration.
  • Ability to work autonomously, lead work packages, and engage stakeholders for successful delivery.
  • Experience in supporting manufacturing and resolving manufacturing issues is an advantage.
  • Strong investigative skills to find root causes of design issues and propose corrective actions.
  • A proven record of on-time delivery and good communication skills.

This is an umbrella contract role, inside IR35.
