Job Description:

Role Overview:

The Test Capability Lead is a leadership role within the Future Combat Air (FCA) Line of Business at Leonardo, focusing on developing and leading a complex Test Capability program supporting the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), which aims to deliver the Tempest fighter aircraft to replace the Typhoon fleet by 2035.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the Test Capability roadmap aligned with the GCAP objectives, incorporating novel approaches to compliance and standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering teams in the UK and internationally to support the development of test capabilities including rigs, test solutions, and software frameworks.
  • Represent Leonardo as an SME in industry engagements and influence future testing strategies and methodologies.
  • Build and lead a team to implement the Test Capability roadmap, supporting trials and integration into airborne testing.
  • Manage delivery of the Test Capabilities within schedule, scope, and budget, including proof-of-concept demonstrations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering across the lifecycle and developing strategic roadmaps.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and develop effective test capabilities in complex environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Eligible for full security clearance.
