About the Role
My client are seeking a skilled and passionate Test Baker to join our Baking Centre team. This role involves testing and evaluating new recipes, ingredients, and baking techniques to support innovation and excellence within the bakery sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct baking trials and provide detailed reports on results and findings.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects.
- Maintain bakery equipment and identify any technical or resource needs.
- Create and update test protocols and documentation.
- Provide technical support and bakery process advice to customers and internal teams.
- Participate in trade fairs, demonstrations, and customer events.
- Deliver and support technical training for colleagues, partners, and customers on bakery processes, yeasts, sourdoughs, ingredients, and mixes.
- Stay up to date with market trends, customer needs, and developments in the baking industry.
Requirements & Skills
- Formal bakery qualification (Lead Baker, Level 3 or equivalent) - desirable.
- Proven hands‑on baking experience, ideally within a commercial or industrial bakery setting.
- Strong understanding of bakery processes, ingredients, and production methods.
- Customer‑focused approach with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Collaborative team player with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for customer visits, training, and events.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
