Test Automation Manager

Hybrid Glasgow

We're seeking an experienced Test Automation Manager to lead and evolve automation strategy within a high-profile digital transformation programme. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll bridge technical delivery with strategic oversight - ensuring automation becomes a true enabler of speed, quality, and scalability.

What You'll Be Doing

Own the automation strategy across multiple delivery streams, aligning frameworks to business and technical objectives

Manage and mentor automation engineers, ensuring script quality, code reusability, and scalable practices

Define and maintain test automation standards, libraries, and CI/CD integration practices

Partner with QA leadership and development teams to drive test coverage, governance, and reporting maturity

Champion DevOps-aligned automation practices across the release pipeline

Lead tool selection, framework evolution, and team capability uplift

Act as escalation point for automation delivery issues, blockers and CI/CD breakages

What We're Looking For

A seasoned test automation leader with hands-on experience designing and managing automation frameworks

Confident in coaching engineers while delivering to programme goals

Strong advocate of reusability, modular architecture, and measurable impact

Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to translate technical quality into business outcomes

Tech Environment

Core Tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, Serenity BDD, REST Assured, IntelliJ

Desirable Exposure: TestGPT, TestSigma, SonarQube, NeoLoad, Lighthouse, Appium

BPSS clearance required
