Motorola Solutions UK Limited is seeking a proactive Test Automation Lead in Glasgow to own automated testing strategy for the Pronto platform. Lead automation engineers, convert manual tests to reliable scripts, and drive regression testing while partnering with testers and developers to ensure quality across releases.

You will guide automation adoption, identify automation opportunities, and collaborate in agile sprints to deliver high-quality software for UK emergency services.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• A formal qualification (Degree) in Computing Science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in QA Automation.
• Software Development in Test (SDET) qualification preferable.
• Experience of converting manual test cases into automated scripts.
• Experience of Java or another OO language.
• Knowledge of software development / issue tracking systems (e.g. Jira, MS DevOps).
• Experience of XML and XSLT.
• Experience with web service technologies (SOAP, REST, JSON).
• Solid understanding of SQL and database queries for test data verification.
• Knowledge of source code management technologies (Git, SubVersion).
• Experience with Smartphone testing (Android).
• Experience of SQL

• Develop, maintain, and scale a robust test automation framework using Cypress/Playwright for the Pronto Platform.

Now, as part of Motorola Solutions, we continue to expand with future opportunities in the UK and beyond.## Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Test Automation Lead to take ownership of our automated testing strategy. Candidates should have experience in leading a team of automation engineers and be capable of developing automated test solutions for the Pronto platform whilst guiding fellow testers to roll these solutions out across the department. You will be responsible for helping to convert our manual test cases into reliable automated scripts; primarily focusing on regression testing; to ensure product stability with every release.Beyond standard QA, you will also identify "other viable processes"—looking for opportunities to automate repetitive workflows and data setup tasks to increase overall engineering efficiency.
