Job summary

IBM CIC in the United Kingdom is seeking a Quality Engineer with expertise in automation to streamline testing and deliver reliable software solutions. You will develop and maintain automated testing strategies, leveraging tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and Cucumber to improve efficiency and coverage.

The role requires strong Java DevOps experience, end-to-end testing skills including UAT, and the ability to integrate testing automation into delivery pipelines within Agile/DevOps

Qualifications

• Strong Java DevOps infrastructure experience.
• Experience of writing test automation scripts.
• Model office testing and end-to-end/UAT testing experience.
• Experience with automation builds for IT systems and applications.
• Highly experienced in multiple test automation tools and technologies.
• Understand testing requirements and build optimized test scenarios, automation for test data and environments.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, Containers and integrating testing automation into delivery automation.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer with expertise in Automation, you will be a skilled professional who streamlines testing processes through automation, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery. You will have specialist skills in creating and maintaining automated testing solutions for IT systems and applications. You will possess in-depth knowledge of various test automation tools and technologies and use them to build optimised test scenarios, develop automation for executing tests, and manage test data and environment-related automation. This role requires understanding and integrating testing automation into overall delivery automation, aligning with contemporary trends like Agile, DevOps and Containers.

Key Responsibilities

• Building automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Katalon, Cucumber, etc.
• Design and create test data and test environments
• Write and execute test scripts under the direction of a senior tester and test lead and identify errors and validate successes for any software solution
• Identify, understand and document all programming errors and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specification goals for the given programme, application or set of applications
• Do a deep-dive and present test results to clients and project teams clearly

Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise
