Role Description: We are seeking a dedicated mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Clinical Development Innovation team within PPD, the clinical research division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This global role involves the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of software systems. A solid foundation in software development, collaboration skills, and a commitment to growth are essential.

Our Tech Stack: Programming Languages: JavaScript, C# .Net, Azure Bicep, YAML, Python; Frameworks: React, NextJS, .Net Core; Databases: Azure Cosmos DB, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory; Cloud: Azure Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault; CI/CD: Azure DevOps; Automation & Testing: PactFlow, Cypress.io, Selenium, TestNG, CodedUI; Monitoring: Azure Monitor, App Insight; Version Control: Git.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, maintain, and document governance, principles, and ways of working.
  • Develop and maintain system testing and test automation.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers.
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software.
  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.

This is a home-based, 2-year fixed-term role in the UK.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant qualifications.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Test Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency with Test Automation tools including PactFlow, Cypress.io, Selenium, TestNG, CodedUI.
  • Familiarity with Azure and Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of serverless architecture and cloud computing.
  • Experience with TDD, BDD, unit, integration, and E2E testing.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and learn new technologies.
