Job summary

Enlist Solution in the Oldham/Manchester area is seeking a practical Test and Repair Engineer to join a busy equipment hire and service operation. You will test, inspect, fault-find and maintain heating and cooling equipment before it is returned to customers.

The role suits someone with experience in engineering or workshop environments, with a strong understanding of electrical testing. You will work across chillers, boilers and related gear, with training provided and opportunities to develop

Qualifications

• F-Gas qualification is required.
• Knowledge of PAT testing procedures and electrical safety.
• Experience identifying and diagnosing electrical or mechanical faults.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical testing/repair approach.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Basic IT skills for logging equipment information and completing reports.
• Experience in HVAC/equipment hire or similar engineering environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect chillers and related equipment.
• Carry out boiler testing with training available.
• Diagnose and repair faults on returned equipment.
• Perform PAT testing in line with procedures and safety.
• Clean and prepare equipment for future hire.
• Record faults and report recurring issues to management.
• Assist with stock checks and yard/workshop organisation.
• Support wider workshop and engineering team as needed.

Test and Repair Engineer

Location: Oldham Area

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with overtime when required

We are looking for a practical and technically minded Test and Repair Engineer to join a busy equipment hire and service operation in Manchester.

The role will involve testing, inspecting, fault-finding and maintaining heating and cooling equipment before it is returned to customers.

This would suit someone with previous experience in a similar engineering or workshop environment and a strong understanding of electrical testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect chillers and associated equipment.


• Carry out boiler testing, with training available where required.


• Diagnose and repair faults on equipment returned from hire.


• Carry out PAT testing in line with relevant procedures and safety requirements.


• Clean and prepare equipment for future hire.


• Record faults and report recurring technical issues to management.


• Assist with stock checks and equipment control.


• Maintain good housekeeping standards across the workshop, warehouse and yard areas.


• Support the wider warehouse and engineering team when required.
