Qualifications

  • Qualified to ONC Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) or a Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electronic/pneumatics engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components to a final configured product using process and drawing instructions.
  • Repair and test products using test procedures and specialized tooling.
  • Evaluate customer returns to determine necessary repair actions.
  • Perform fault finding to sub-assembly level using drawings.
  • Conduct stage inspections at required intervals.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues as needed.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Test and Assembly Technician to join our Christchurch site!

You will be working under minimal supervision, following process instructions, drawings, test and repair schedules, to assemble, test, and repair products and customer returns, adhering to the quality management system, and meeting company and customer requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembling components to a final configured product using process and drawing instructions, blueprints, specialized tooling, fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
  • Repairing and testing products using test procedures, drawings, specialized tooling, fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools, incorporating ECN as required.
  • Evaluating customer returns to determine necessary repair actions to satisfy customer requirements and product standards.
  • Fault finding to sub-assembly level utilizing drawings and basic test equipment, and potentially to component level using circuit diagrams.
  • Performing stage inspections at required intervals to verify work accuracy.
  • Providing training and support to colleagues as needed.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations.
  • Performing work according to current standards and QMS.
  • Maintaining 6S in the work area.
  • Performing routine minor maintenance.
  • Seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting problem-solving in small groups.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified to ONC Electronic Engineering (or equivalent), or
  • Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship, or
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electronic/pneumatics engineering and electrical/mechanical assembly with proven competence.

Additional skills include:

  • Knowledge of MRP and Production Control systems and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
