Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 an hour; this increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week for new colleagues, with options for fewer hours (minimum 12). We are flexible with scheduling within the availability windows. You will receive 3 weeks' notice of your shifts.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Shift Leader at Tesco, you will support store operations, oversee team activities, and ensure excellent customer service. Your role involves managing shifts, supporting colleagues, maintaining store standards, and contributing to a positive team environment.

You will:

  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
  • Manage duty shifts and team coordination
  • Assist customers and ensure they leave satisfied
  • Coach colleagues and provide feedback
  • Maintain store safety and cleanliness
  • Support store improvements and safety routines
  • Lead by example and support store managers

You need to be 18 or over, a good role model, a strong communicator, and capable of leading and making decisions. You should be motivated, curious, and committed to serving customers and communities.
