Responsibilities
  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety in daily tasks.
  • Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that meets customer expectations.
  • Be available for customers, listening to their needs and ensuring they leave with what they came for.
  • Identify ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and giving feedback to the team.
  • Guide and support colleagues in-store, maintaining a safe place to work and shop.
  • Maintain understanding of store performance and assist managers in delivering actions to improve operations.
  • Lead from the front and set a strong example for teammates in all duties.

Availability and pay

Availability windows are outlined by day and time. The shift leader rate starts from £14.76 per hour, increasing to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. Tesco policy offers a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with options to work 12 hours or more per week.
