Job summary

Tesco is hiring a Shift Lead to help run store operations and deliver great customer service. You’ll supervise teams, coordinate daily tasks, and ensure smooth service during your shifts in a fast-paced retail environment.

Expected hours are a minimum of 16 hours per week with many stores offering more; pay starts at £15.59 per hour and rises to £16.86 within the M25. We value teamwork, flexibility and a commitment to serving customers and communities.

You will be responsible for

Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.

Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries.

Building positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.

Confidently leading the store in the Manager’s absence.

Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change.

Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role modelling great service.

You will need

To be over 18 for this role.

Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.

Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer's needs are met.

Build positive, long-lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.

A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.

A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
