Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location and skills.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.

The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work – the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. We support flexibility, so if your available times match closely but not exactly, we’d still love to hear from you. Read more.

You will be responsible for:
  • Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride.
  • Being knowledgeable about store products and services.
  • Working across the store in various areas as required.
  • Applying your training to work safely, effectively, and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Making customer-focused decisions and meeting their needs.
  • Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events.
  • Understanding store performance and contributing to service, sales, waste reduction, and profit.
  • Handling products carefully to maintain quality.

  • Accepting deliveries into the store when required.
