Job summary

PPG is seeking a Territory Sales Manager (Field Based) covering Nottingham, Sheffield, Derby and Lincoln. You will develop and drive the business strategy for the Trade Direct segment, aiming to stimulate growth in sales, margin and market share while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The role reports to the Regional Sales Manager and involves managing circa £6MM in sales with a strong cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the business strategy for PPG Trade Direct segment to grow sales, margin and market share.
• Lead territory strategy for Nottingham/Sheffield/Derby/Lincoln and ensure exceptional customer experience.
• Forecast and manage a circa £6MM sales ledger within a team.
• Collaborate with UK & Ireland support functions to deliver growth.
• Utilise PPG sales methodology and KPI framework to achieve objectives.
• Maintain strong internal/external stakeholder relationships and ensure timely admin tasks.

As a Territory Sales Manager, you will develop and drive the business strategy for PPG Trade Direct segment aiming to stimulate improved sales, margin and market share performance. This role involves driving sales using the PPG sales methodology and providing market expertise to facilitate significant growth across Trade Direct, delivering a comprehensive solution within your sales ledger. Key job parameters consist of sales, driving growth and ensuring increased market share whilst executing an exceptional customer experience. Your key areas will be Nottingham/Sheffield/Derby and Lincoln.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for circa £6MM sales and associated product portfolio – via PPG Total Coating Solution offering.
• Reporting to Regional Sales Manager this role is operating within a wider sales team, accountability of Sales, Margin and annual budget delivery.
• Creation and implementation of territory strategy to deliver significant growth in Trade Direct Sales
• Provide support and work in partnership with UK & Ireland Support functions.
• Align with PPG Company values and ensure the delivery of the UK&I growth strategy and its objectives.
• Develop and implement a growth plan for your territory to achieve sales, margin and market share growth
• Deliver and embody the PPG Way to Lead by consistently demonstrating leadership qualities, fostering a culture of excellence, and assisting the team towards achieving strategic goals
• Adhere to and execute PPG’s preferred sales methodology, incorporating selling machine principles, process and KPI’s
• Maintain customer records and interactions in accordance with company guidelines, fully utilising Clientlink and other digital platforms to meet budgets and enhance performance.
• Provide accurate forecasting for your sales ledger, projecting expected sales volume and profit for both existing and new product
• Promote the company product portfolio and promotional activity to new and existing customers adhering to company pricing architecture.
• Act as an ambassador at all company and corporate events, ensuring PPG values are upheld.
• Maximise productivity, customer coverage & service levels through effective journey planning.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
• Ensure customer accounts align with credit terms to maintain business liquidity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Complete and submit all administrative tasks within timescales and standards to allow management review.
• Act safely, ethically and responsibly, always complying with PPG policies.
