Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry-leading technologies to support diagnostic testing, which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

The Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Infectious Diseases Division (ARDx) portfolio is centered around ID Now. A fast-growing, molecular testing platform with the flexibility to test for Covid-19, Influenza A & B, RSV, and Strep A. The ID NOW delivers accurate results in just minutes, giving HCPs real-time access to the information required to make actionable decisions during the first patient visit. The ID NOW Platform provides diagnostics where and when they are needed most — in near-patient settings at the point of care such as Emergency departments, Admissions, and Wards.

Other products within the portfolio include Binax NOW rapid antigen tests, sexual health testing, and women’s health.

We are currently recruiting for a Key Account Manager role for the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division (ARDx) - Infectious Disease. The territory of this role is Scotland. The role is regional but may have national elements.

The Key Account Manager's role is to ensure Abbott Rdx leads in the move toward Point of Care testing for infectious diseases within secondary care, as well as identifying and progressing key strategic opportunities within the newly forming Clinical Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) and community landscape. This will require managing and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders and pathways, working across all levels within the NHS, Public Health, and Local Authority settings.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop markets and customers, achieve sales targets, provide customer service, and conduct key account management activities.
  • Lead and initiate projects or work as part of a project team as required, demonstrating excellent business acumen and striving to meet and exceed agreed financial and strategic objectives.
  • Implement national strategies for new and existing products and services, mapping out and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders in key accounts.
  • Participate in all sales and marketing meetings.
  • Understand sales strategies and adapt UK marketing campaigns to a regional level.
  • Articulate issues and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long-term strategic business opportunities.
  • Maintain and communicate regularly a view of the strategic landscape within your region to Commercial and Marketing Teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent track record in sales with strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strong industry experience in medical devices or diagnostics background.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic industry practices is preferable.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK healthcare industry and NHS.
  • Ability to build and construct compelling business cases.
  • Informal coaching and stakeholder leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel (intermediate), PowerPoint, CRM systems like Salesforce, and Power BI.
