Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the Oswestry Education Centre team. The post supports students aged 5-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs, delivering core and reintegration activities in a term-time, part-time schedule.

The role requires good organisational skills for teachers’ admin, prep and record-keeping, and is based at Oswestry Education Centre with a 30-hour week (8.45am-2.45pm, Mon-Fri, term time).

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant Level 3 with ability to support core subjects, PSHE, reintegration and sports/leisure activities.
• Good organisational skills required to support teachers in administrative tasks, preparation and record keeping.
• Experience working with pupils aged 5-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of educational programme including core subjects, PSHE, reintegration and activities.
• Assist with preparation, record keeping and general administrative tasks.
• Assist with safeguarding and welfare of pupils under supervision.
