Job summary

The Basildon Upper Academy invites applications for a Midday Assistant to join our catering team. The role carries a Permanent contract with a 39-week term-time schedule and pays at National Minimum Wage. Working hours are 9.30am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, during term time.

Duties include cleaning the dining hall before and after lunch and supervising students. Applications close on the specified date with September 2026 as start.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
• Able to work both alone and in a team.
• Good eye for detail and pride in work.
• Good level of fitness for the role.
• Aware of Health & Safety procedures.
• Experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential.

• Supervise students during dining times.
