Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd in Porthcawl is seeking a reliable school cleaner for term-time only, 2 hours per day after 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The role is temporary and ongoing, starting ASAP to help maintain a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff.

Responsibilities include cleaning across the school, following schedules and COSHH guidelines, disposing of waste, and reporting issues to the site team. Enhanced DBS is required, with costs covered unless on the Update Service.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check is required; Manpower covers the cost unless you are on the DBS Update Service.
• Experience in cleaning environments with hygiene emphasis, such as schools or care settings.
• Knowledge of safe working practices and COSHH guidance.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Discretion and safeguarding awareness in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties across the school to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Clean designated areas per site requirements and schedules.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and according to COSHH guidance.
• Ensure waste is disposed of appropriately and bins are kept tidy.
• Maintain attention to detail in high-touch areas.
• Report cleaning issues, faults, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate person.
