Job summary

The Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust is seeking a Cleaner to join our site team. You will perform routine cleaning of designated areas to ensure they remain clean and hygienic, under the supervision of the Site Manager.

Hours are 10 per week from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, 52 weeks per year. Flexibility for academy events and holidays is possible. Applicants should be able to work as part of a team and carry out cleaning duties as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and hygiene maintenance.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Ability to work under supervision as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Routine cleaning of premises and furnishings in all room types during term time, to include vacuuming, damp dusting, mopping, machine cleaning floors, polishing and emptying of litter bins.
• Periodic cleaning during school closures, including scrubbing/stripping floors, wall washing, carpet shampooing and cleaning of internal glass.
• Use of electrical cleaning equipment (scrubbers/polishers, carpet extraction machines) with appropriate training.
• Cleaning toilets and sanitary areas, including removal of body emissions to maintain hygiene standards.
• Work under the direction of the Site Manager and inspect/report defects.
• Replenish consumables (soap, toilet paper) as required.
• Use of access equipment to clean areas not reachable from floor level with a safe system of work.
• Other duties as needed to meet academy objectives.
