Job summary

Gladstone Primary Academy is seeking a Catering Assistant to join its award-winning catering team. The role is fixed term until July 2027, during term time (38 weeks) with hours 11.30 am to 1.45 pm, Monday to Friday, at the Gladstone Primary Academy site. Salary is Pathway 1, £6,498 per annum (FTE £25,614).

Start date: ASAP. The successful candidate will support food service, cleanliness, and food hygiene compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene basics.
• Experience in a catering environment is essential.
• Working with children is desirable.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Washing up, serving lunches, and clearing the dining hall after service.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to children, staff and visitors.
• Assist kitchen staff with cleaning duties and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
