Job summary

East Ayrshire Council is recruiting a part-time kitchen assistant to help prepare meals across Netherthird Primary School and other council establishments. This role supports the Community Plan and Best Value objectives, focusing on daily food preparation and safety.

The post is term-time, 12.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 12.00pm - 2.30pm) with an hourly rate of £13.95–£14.12. PVG checks and two references (including from current/most recent employer) are required.

Qualifications

• PVG Scheme membership is required before offer for Regulated Work with children or protected adults.
• Provide details of at least two references, one from your current or most recent employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily preparation of meals across East Ayrshire establishments to support Council objectives and ensure quality and safety in line with Safer Recruitment guidance.
• Comply with pre-employment checks and reference requests as part of the recruitment process.
