Job summary

SuperHiring is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant in Eastbourne to support pupils aged 5–18 with SEN and SEMH needs. You will assist with classroom delivery, monitor behaviour, and help develop personal and educational skills in a busy school environment.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification, strong communication, and a full UK driving license. Term-time hours apply with a 39-week year, and occasional travel to the Ninfield site is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in educational or alternative provision settings.
• Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEN, or SEMH needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative ability.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Engage and inspire young people in a classroom environment, creating a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
• Manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation using restorative approaches.
• Support personal development and life skills of young people.
• Assist with classroom delivery and adapt resources to meet needs.
• Collaborate with staff, therapists, and care teams for holistic support.
• Contribute to administration and record-keeping throughout the day.
• Respond to changing needs of a busy learning environment.
• Travel to Ninfield site two afternoons a week requiring transport.
