Job summary

The Nicolson Institute in Scotland is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant for 3 hours per week during term time. The post is permanent and pays £2,022 – £2,041 per annum, inclusive of £205 Distant Islands Allowance.

You will perform general kitchen duties in the school kitchen and dining areas, including food preparation, simple cooking, and serving meals, snacks and beverages, with cash handling using a cash register.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar post is essential.
• Current Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable.
• Experience with cash handling and serving meals is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general kitchen duties in school kitchen and dining areas (preparing food, including simple cooking, and serving meals, snacks and beverages).
• Handle cash and operate the cash register, completing relevant forms as required.
• Ensure all food handling operations comply with current Food Hygiene and Health and Safety legislation and the Comhairle's Food Safety Policy.
