Job summary

The Castle School, Thornbury, invites applications for an Education Support Assistant to support pupils and staff and to deliver targeted interventions for students needing extra help. You will help maintain high expectations, build positive relationships, and contribute to the students' emotional, physical and educational development.

You will join a supportive team, work with pupils with mixed needs, and uphold safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly those with EHCPs.
• Can work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing needs.
• Confident delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups.
• Builds strong relationships with students, staff and families.
• Is a role model for professionalism, positivity and care.
• Communicates clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Has a good level of general education.
• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification—or is willing to work towards it.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions to identified students who need additional support.
• Reinforce the excellent work of teaching staff by supporting individuals inside and outside the classroom.
• Work as part of a team to promote emotional, physical and educational development, including those with special needs.
