Job summary

Cadbury College is seeking a confident Cover Teacher to join the Curriculum team on a temporary, term-time-only basis until December. You will cover lessons across subjects and year groups, delivering prepared materials and activities while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Strong classroom management and safeguarding commitment are essential, with experience in a sixth form or FE setting preferred. This role offers competitive hourly pay and term-time hours within Cadbury College.

Qualifications

• Qualified teaching or classroom-based qualification.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Experience of supporting learning and delivering activities to students or young people.
• Experience of managing classroom or group behaviour effectively.
• Excellent communication with students and colleagues.
• Calm, confident and professional with safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion commitments.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective and high-quality cover for lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Deliver lesson materials, activities and instructions provided by teaching staff.
• Ensure students understand the work set and make effective use of lesson time.
• Maintain a positive, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and high standards of student behaviour.
• Adapt confidently to different subjects, classes, year groups and learning environments.
• Build positive and professional relationships with students and teaching staff.
• Monitor student engagement, participation and progress during lessons.
• Follow College policies, safeguarding, health and safety and equality, diversity and inclusion requirements.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the College environment.
