Berkeley Scott Recruitment is actively recruiting experienced Catering Assistants for the new school year across Chelmsford schools. The roles offer term-time hours, school-day shifts, and weekly pay with ongoing temporary work.

We are seeking individuals with food safety qualifications, an Enhanced DBS, and strong communication skills to support kitchen teams and deliver a reliable service in education environments.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience, especially in education is advantageous.
• Food safety and allergen qualifications, or willingness to obtain them, are essential.
• Enhanced DBS with child barring or willingness to obtain one is essential.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Chef and kitchen teams in preparation and service of hot and cold food items.
• Assist with food service for children and liaise with teachers and care workers.
• Operate tills and handle payments where required.
• Clear and close units at the end of shifts, maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene.
• Follow food safety and allergen legislation at all times.
