Job summary

Blackhorse Primary School is seeking an After School Club Assistant to join our wrap-around care team. You will help create a welcoming, supportive environment for club members, manage behaviour, and support housekeeping and safety policies.

Working with two other assistants, you will deliver term-time sessions from 3.15pm to 3.30pm, 15 hours per week, on a permanent contract. Experience with children and two references are preferred, with opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Passion for making a difference to all children.
• Experience of supporting children, ideally within a pre-school, school setting or classroom environment.
• Experience of working with children including children.
• Willingness to engage in further training.
• Ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, children and families.
• Two fully supportive employment references.
• Be aspirational for every child and believe that all pupils can learn – even if they haven’t learnt something yet.

Responsibilities

• Manage the behaviour of members of the club.
• Assist with tidying the venue after use.
• Prompt children for taking responsibility for housekeeping.
• Support the aims and ethos of the school and adhere to safeguarding policies.
