The Opportunity
Abbott Core Diagnostics is seeking a Tenders & 3rd party Specialist based in our Maidenhead office. The role reports to the Manager of Enterprise Accounts and involves applying extensive knowledge of contract, bid, and proposal management to gather the necessary commercial, financial, and technical information for contracts and bids.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Field-based Sales Team, known as the Enterprise Team (Enterprise Account Managers and Sales Executives), to assist in their activities to win and retain business.
- Coordinate internal and external procedures to support the Sales Cycle, Tender process, and tender award phase with the Enterprise Team.
- Play a key role in winning tendered and RFP business in collaboration with the Enterprise Team.
- Identify, evaluate, and support the delivery of complex pathology laboratory solutions across Blood Sciences and the full pan-pathology range, including Abbott and third-party solutions.
- Manage all tender opportunities from sales cycle through tender and post-award handover, increasing capacity for the sales team for added value sales.
- Provide training and support to the Enterprise Team on Tender Processes and TenderEyes.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent, preferably in science, economics, or business studies; project management qualifications are a plus.
- Experience in laboratory medicine from NHS, private laboratories, or the commercial industry is desirable.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- A collaborative approach with a commitment to high-standard project completion within deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the tender process with the Enterprise Team, including opportunity pipeline management.
- Attend external customer engagements with the Enterprise Team.
- Record and distribute Minutes of Meeting and store them on the Tender Portal (TenderEyes).
- Support field visits to map current third-party solutions.
- Develop strategic solutions for pan-pathology tenders involving multiple third parties to meet customer specifications.
- Assist the Enterprise Team with pre-tender activities and provide technical and sales insights.
- Identify opportunities, including frameworks and tenders.
- Manage tenders from small instrument bids to large multisite, pan-pathology tenders, with values from £125K to over £500m.
- Manage relationships with third-party suppliers to secure the best bids for Abbott, including training and support.
- Support the handover of successful bids to the Implementation, Contracts, and Customer Experience teams.
