Job description

A leading offshore energy services provider is seeking a Tendering Specialist or Senior Tendering Specialist to join its tendering function on a permanent basis in Westhill. This is a key role supporting the preparation and delivery of tenders across a broad portfolio, including inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM), renewables, and decommissioning. The role offers exposure to complex offshore projects, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to influence commercial outcomes across UK and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Playing a key role in preparing tenders for oil, gas, renewable energy, and decommissioning projects, supporting all phases from early engagement to late-life interventions.
  • Supporting the development of cost estimates and reports for Concept, Feasibility, pre-FEED, and FEED studies.
  • Producing accurate and commercially sound costings, taking into account risk, competitor positioning, supply chain input, and market trends.
  • Coordinating tender activities to ensure timely completion and internal approval prior to client submission.
  • Preparing internal authorisation documents and presentations for senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Helping develop high-quality bid documentation for submission to clients.
  • Supporting the negotiation of tender terms and conditions to secure favourable commercial, technical, and contractual outcomes.

About You:

  • Previous experience in a tendering environment with demonstrable estimating skills is essential; strong proficiency in Excel or estimating software is required.
  • Ideally degree qualified in a relevant discipline, though applications from candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.
  • Where relevant to the level of experience, ability to review and qualify contracts is required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing smarter, more efficient work methods.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and support continuous improvement across the team.
  • Enthusiastic about contributing to the success of the wider tendering team, including the supervision, mentoring, and development of colleagues where appropriate.
