Job summary

Siemens PLC in the UK is seeking an experienced tender specialist to join our Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation Customer Services team. The role is based in our Hebburn office, with three days in-office and two days remote.

You will lead end-to-end tender development for electrical infrastructure projects, coordinate with legal/commercial teams, and drive innovations in MV switchgear and protection systems to deliver value for customers.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in bid/project/commercial management within an engineering project-based, regulated industry.
  • Extensive experience in Medium Voltage Switchgear, Protection and Automation sectors desirable.
  • Capability to communicate with all levels and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Service-minded with a drive for customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end tender development for electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Lead tender kick-off meetings to brief colleagues on requirements and risks.
  • Advise leadership on Bid/No Bid decisions based on strategic goals.
  • Prepare tenders according to procedures before client submission.
  • Consult legal and commercial teams on Terms and Conditions.
  • Drive technical innovation in MV Switchgear and Protection systems.
  • Build relationships with factories, customers, and technical teams.
  • Participate in business improvement, cost reduction and sales stimulation ideas.
  • Champion customer-focused solutions delivering real value.

This role will be based in our Hebburn office and will require you to work in the office for 3 days per week, and the rest can be remotely. Ready to Power the Future?   • Lead end-to-end tender development for sophisticated electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Lead tender kick-off meetings to brief colleagues on requirements and identify key opportunities and risks.
  • Advise business leadership team on Bid/No bid decision based on strategic goals and resources.
  • Prepare tenders according to procedures and Signature Protocols before client submission.
  • Consult legal and commercial teams on Terms and Conditions as needed.
  • Drive technical innovation in Medium Voltage Switchgear and Protection systems.
  • Build positive relationships with factories, customers, and technical teams.
  • Participate in business improvement, cost reduction and sales stimulation ideas creation and delivery to the overall benefit of the business.
  • Champion customer-focused solutions that deliver real value. Significant experience in bid/project/commercial management role, from an engineering project-based business, in a regulated industry.
  • Extensive experience in Medium Voltage Switch gear and Protection and Automation sectors would be desirable
  • A drive to achieve strong customer satisfaction with a Service Mindset.
  • Curious about technologies.
  • Evidence of working in cross-functional teams and ability to develop strong relationships and work cohesively across functions.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels, technical, non-technical, verbal and written.
