Job Description:

Job purpose:

  • Ensuring residents are involved in improving landlord services and promoting strong and sustainable neighbourhoods with community outreach and support for local communities.
  • Providing operational management support for resident-led oversight and scrutiny boards, ensuring a range of involvement opportunities for residents.
  • Leading the delivery of Southwark’s Housing resident involvement strategy and operational plans.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the team and providing operational support for accessible resident involvement opportunities to ensure residents' views influence landlord services.
  • Implementing and maintaining resident involvement structures to hold the council accountable and achieve the resident involvement strategy.
  • Organising consultation and community outreach events to develop resident empowerment and capacity building.
  • Designing and embedding performance standards to drive service improvement.
  • Fostering a team culture focused on closing life chances gaps and empowering residents to create thriving neighbourhoods.
  • Developing data-led communication programs to support resident involvement, respecting equalities and diversity policies.

Requirements:

  • A Degree and Chartered Institute of Housing membership or ongoing professional development in public sector housing management.
  • Understanding of local community issues and experience in community cohesion projects.
  • Proven experience leading community participation in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience managing and motivating teams to meet targets.
  • Ability to develop relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one.
