Job summary

Connection Support is recruiting a Tenancy Case Worker to join the Buckinghamshire Homelessness Prevention Service. You will provide person-centred support to households at risk of homelessness, helping them maintain accommodation and improve financial wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include budgeting support, developing individual plans, and coordinating access to housing and welfare services, with travel across Buckinghamshire.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting people who have experienced homelessness or are at risk.
  • Ability to develop and review support plans, risk assessments, and maintain case notes.
  • Knowledge of housing, welfare benefits, tenancy sustainment, budgeting, and debt management.
  • The ability to build positive relationships, motivate others, and support people to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients to improve budgeting skills, manage debt, maximise income, and sustain their tenancy.
  • Develop personalised support plans and help clients work towards their goals.
  • Provide practical advice and emotional support to navigate challenging circumstances.
  • Help clients access housing, welfare benefits, community resources, and other services.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure coordinated support.
  • Deliver support in clients' homes, community settings, and Connection Support offices.

We are currently recruiting Tenancy Case Workers to join our new Buckinghamshire Homelessness Prevention Service.

About the service

Our service helps people address the financial and housing challenges that can place them at risk of homelessness. Through early intervention, practical support, and tailored advice, we empower households to maintain their accommodation and avoid crisis.

The impact you will have

As a Case Worker, you will provide person-centred support to households at risk of homelessness, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to maintain their accommodation and improve their financial wellbeing. By building positive relationships and working alongside clients to overcome barriers, you will play a key role in preventing homelessness and creating lasting positive change.

  • Delivering support in clients' homes, community settings, and Connection Support offices.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives. Through early intervention and practical support, you will help people avoid homelessness, increase their independence, and build a more secure future for themselves and their families.

Contract details

Contract: Initial 12-month contract, with the intention of extending subject to continued funding

Hours : 18.75 – 37.5 hours, we are open to appointing either one full-time Case Worker (37.5 hours per week) or two part-time Case Workers (18.75 hours per week each)

Salary: £27,418- £28,541, per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience.(please note the salary advertised is the full time 37.5 hours equivalent)

Location: Based in Aylesbury or High Wycombe, with regular travel across Buckinghamshire to support families in their homes and community settings.

About you

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, motivated, and committed to helping people overcome challenges and achieve their goals. You will have experience of working with people who have experienced homelessness, are at risk of homelessness, or have other complex support needs, and be passionate about delivering person-centred support that makes a real difference.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience of supporting people who have experienced homelessness, housing insecurity, mental health challenges, substance misuse, offending histories, or financial hardship.
  • Experience of providing person-centred support, advice, guidance, or casework to help individuals achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience of developing and reviewing support plans, risk assessments, and maintaining accurate case records.
  • Knowledge of housing, welfare benefits, tenancy sustainment, budgeting, and debt management, including an understanding of tenancy rights and responsibilities.
  • An awareness of relevant housing legislation would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
  • The ability to build positive relationships, motivate others, and support people to achieve their goals.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
