Job summary

BALFOUR BEATTY is seeking a Temporary Works Manager for the Lower Thames Crossing project. You will lead a team of Temporary Works Coordinators, ensuring on-site procedures are clear and followed, and act as the technical lead on temporary works design and buildability.

Ideal candidates will have civil/structural engineering degrees and 5–10 years in temporary works, with SMSTS and CSCS credentials. Join a major infrastructure initiative with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–10 years of temporary works experience.
• Experience in a senior or lead coordination role.
• Strong knowledge of BS 5975, CDM and industry best practice.
• Confidence to give technical challenge when required.
• SMSTS and a valid CSCS card.

About the role

Our Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) project is looking for a Temporary Works Manager who knows how to bring structure, clarity, and leadership to complex environments. LTC is a new road that will connect Kent and Essex through a tunnel beneath the River Thames and will be the greenest road ever built in the UK – creating six times more green space than road.

Responsibilities
