Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Temporary Works Manager to lead the management and assurance of temporary works across company projects. You will develop procedures, oversee TWCs, and ensure designs are checked and approved before implementation.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Construction Managers and site teams to promote safe, compliant practices, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in scaffold management and risk control.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of temporary works principles and processes.
• Knowledge of scaffold inspection and compliance requirements.
• Experience on construction sites with site inspections.
• Understanding of BS 5975 and CDM Regulations.
• Ability to identify temporary works risks and challenge controls.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Experience working with contractors, designers and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Temporary Works Management Procedure.
• Establish arrangements for identification, design, checking, approval, installation and removal of temporary works.
• Maintain temporary works registers and keep them current.
• Appoint appropriate Temporary Works Coordinators (TWCs) on projects.
• Provide guidance and oversight to TWCs and site management.
• Ensure temporary works are properly designed, checked and approved before use.
• Ensure safe compliance and release for dismantling when appropriate.
• Lead site visits and audits to assure temporary works performance.
