Job summary

EKFB is recruiting a Temporary Works Coordinator to join our civil engineering team working across the Greatworth to Southam area for the HS2 programme. You will manage and co-ordinate temporary works design, approvals, installation and removal, identify TW, assess risk, and prepare design briefs with client and designers.

The role requires temporary works experience, knowledge of civil projects, and a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Experience with temporary works coordination and control.
  • Knowledge of design, approval, checking and installation of TW.
  • Willingness to travel/commute to site locations.
  • UK driving licence and own vehicle access.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the specification, design, approval, checking, installation, maintenance and removal of temporary works.
  • Assess TW risks and maintain TW Control Register.
  • Prepare design briefs with stakeholders and ensure Safe System of Work is communicated.

About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We’re changing the way our industry works for the better, and we want you to be a part of it. We're actively recruiting a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join our team based in the Greatworth to Southam Area. As a TWC you will be required to manage and co-coordinate the specification, design, approval, checking, installation, maintenance, and removal of all necessary temporary works (TW). Identify all TW and record on the TW Control Register. You'll need to assess the risk level of all TW and record on the TW Control Register. Preparation of Design Briefs with full consultation of those involved, ensuring they are adequate and in accordance with the actual situation on site. you must ensure TW design and design checks are carried out, as well as ensuring a Design Check Certificate or similar is available, where required. Designs must be available and issued to interested parties (e.g., Client, Principal Designer). You will need to ensure the Safe System of Work for the erection, use and dismantling of the TW are prepared, and are communicated to and understood by those involved. You must also be able to provide full details of the design, including any limitations or constraints associated with the TW, are available to those responsible for the erection of TW. TW must be inspected during construction, ensuring adequacy of materials. It is essential that you ensure ground conditions, general site conditions, loadings etc. are as stated on the Design Brief or the TW design assumptions (and remain so during use). Hold Points (Permit to Load/Unload) must be identified and are known by all those involved and are not passed until a Permit is issued. Your role also requires you to check that anyone carrying out bespoke fabrication of temporary works is competent.

  • Temporary Works experience is essential

  • HNC in Construction or equivalent qualification (desirable)
  • must hold a valid uk drivers license and have access to your own vehicle
