A leading civil engineering firm in Aylesbury is seeking a candidate with Temporary Works experience to manage and coordinate the design and installation of temporary works for HS2 projects. About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We’re changing the way our industry works for the better, and we want you to be a part of it. The role is based at the A418 Compound in the North Chiltern to Aylesbury area of works.

Responsibilities

• Manage and co‑ordinate the specification, design, approval, checking, installation, maintenance and removal of temporary works (TW).
• Identify and record all TW and risks on the TW Control Register.
• Prepare design briefs with full consultation of stakeholders, ensuring they are adequate and aligned with site conditions.
• Ensure design checks are carried out and obtain a Design Check Certificate or equivalent.
• Prepare and communicate Safe System of Work for erection, use and dismantling of the TW.
• Provide full details of design and any limitations or constraints to those responsible for erection.
• Inspect TW during construction to ensure material adequacy and maintain ground and site condition assumptions.
• Identify hold points (Permit to Load/Unload) and enforce that work does not proceed until a permit is issued.
• Verify competence of any bespoke fabrication of temporary works.

About You

• Temporary Works experience is essential.
• Working knowledge of civil engineering projects.
• HNC in Construction or equivalent qualification (desirable).
• Must hold a valid UK driver’s licence and have access to your own vehicle.
