Role: Temporary Senior Content Editor - Sheffield

Salary: £37,583 - £39,817 DOE (this will be pro rata and paid on an hourly rate)

Contract length: Minimum 2 months, with a rolling contract month by month

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Position Overview

Elevation Recruitment is recruiting for a governing public body. Reporting to the Digital Engagement Manager, this role focuses on developing and supporting the organisation's online presence, primarily through website management and digital services, to meet regulatory standards and accessibility requirements.

The senior content editor will create user-focused content, contribute to communication strategies, and ensure digital accessibility. They will also play a role in improving existing digital services and prototyping new ones to enhance the organisation's digital narrative and standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop, test, and deliver website content focused on user experience, adhering to Government Digital Service standards.
  2. Identify user needs through workshops, feedback, and insights to inform content development.
  3. Coordinate with external web developers to ensure user needs are met.
  4. Lead user research to improve website and digital services.
  5. Manage website content, visual design, and navigation using a content management system (Umbraco).
  6. Monitor digital content performance and support digital strategy development.
  7. Lead user research and testing to enhance digital engagement.
  8. Ensure website accessibility compliance and promote best practices.
  9. Build relationships with stakeholders to support engagement and content delivery.
  10. Provide training on content management and digital content best practices.
  11. Coordinate messaging across channels and support the wider communications team.
  12. Support the digital engagement manager and contribute to organisational projects.
  13. Stay updated on digital best practices and professional development.
