Express Recruitment is supporting a reputable local authority in their search for a Repairs and Maintenance Team Leader.

This role, based in Loughborough, offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a high-performing team dedicated to delivering quality housing services to the community.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Lead the responsive repairs team to deliver high-quality, efficient services using in-house operatives and external contractors.
  2. Oversee the Business Support Team, ensuring smooth coordination and excellent customer service across repairs and voids operations.
  3. Manage disrepair claims and customer complaints promptly and effectively.
  4. Identify areas for service improvement and implement initiatives to enhance performance and reduce turnaround times.
  5. Ensure repairs meet regulatory standards and achieve high customer satisfaction.
  6. Produce and analyze management reports and customer insight data to inform decision-making.
  7. Lead cross-department meetings and facilitate communication among stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
  1. A construction-related qualification (e.g., degree, RICS/CIOB membership) or equivalent experience.
  2. Proven experience in managing property repair services and large-scale repair programmes.
  3. Skills in managing resources, teams, budgets, and contractors.
  4. Strong leadership and people management skills.
  5. Knowledge of construction health & safety legislation and best practices.
  6. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
