Job summary

St Michael’s Catholic School is seeking a part-time Art teacher to cover maternity leave. The 0.6 FTE post runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2 November 2026 and will teach KS3 and Year 10, with GCSE provision well established and strong results.

The Governors welcome an enthusiastic, well-qualified teacher who can engage talented pupils within a Catholic education setting. The role offers a supportive environment with emphasis on safeguarding and staff welfare.

Qualifications

• Qualified Art teacher with appropriate certification (QTS/PGCE).
• Experience delivering KS3 and GCSE Art is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and assess student progress.
• Contribute to the Art Department and uphold Catholic school values.

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Art to this selective school which has been five times judged OUTSTANDING by OFSTED. This is a part-time 0.6 temporary position while the incumbent is on maternity leave.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and thriving Art Department and will teach KS3 & Year 10.GCSE courses are well established and examination results are outstanding.

This opportunity would ideally suit someone who enjoys teaching talented pupils and can communicate interest and enthusiasm for the subject in a school which is committed to the ideals of Catholic education.
