Job summary

Marlin Selection is seeking a Temporary Operations Analyst for a 12-month FTC to oversee transaction reporting and ensure compliance with EMIR, REMIT and other deadlines. You will monitor reporting errors and collaborate with Technical, Front Office, Operations and IT teams to resolve issues.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in a regulatory reporting or middle/back-office role, preferably in gas, power or emissions markets, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a regulatory reporting or middle/back-office analyst role, ideally in gas, power or emissions markets.
• Understanding of financial and wholesale energy regulations, trade lifecycle processes and energy market operations.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Excel and Alteryx experience advantageous.

• Monitoring reporting errors, investigating discrepancies and working with Technical, Front Office, Operations and IT teams to resolve issues.
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, strengthen controls and enhance operational efficiency.

You will need to have the following experience:

• 1–2 years of experience in a relevant analyst role, ideally within regulatory reporting or middle/back-office operations, preferably in the gas, power or emissions markets.
• An understanding of financial and wholesale energy regulations, trade lifecycle processes and energy market operations.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Intermediate or advanced Excel skills and experience with automation tools such as Alteryx would be advantageous.
