Job summary

Yugo The Curve in Central London is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a temporary role at our student accommodation. You will help keep the residence in excellent condition inside and out, with a focus on safety and service for residents.

You should have some maintenance, security or facilities experience; a relevant trade is a plus though not essential. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, paying £14.30 per hour, with benefits and a discretionary bonus.

• A relevant trade would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain community spaces to be exceptionally well‑presented, functional and safe.
• Ensure residents are safe and secure at all times.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and assist contractors as needed.
• Keep communal areas clean and ensure bins are rotated regularly.
• Perform health and safety checks including fire safety and risk assessments.

We are on the lookout for a new temporary team member to join us at our state- of- the- art Student Accommodation in the heart of London!

Here at Yugo we take pride in our spaces to create a positive experience for students and do everything we can to make sure they live their best life! The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the space in a great condition inside and out. This will involve maintaining the general upkeep of the residence including all communal areas, performing repairs, maintenance and minor redecoration as and when needed.

Here’s what you’ll do;

• Take responsibility for ensuring that the community is exceptionally well-maintained, well-presented and functional always.
• Ensure students are safe and secure at all time.
• Complete both planned and reactive maintenance tasks in line with any service level agreements; carry out first line maintenance and assist specialist contractors when required.
• Ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly.
• Ensure that the bin stores are tidy and that the bins are rotated regularly.
• Carry out periodic health and safety checks, including those relating to fire safety and risk assessments, and legionella testing.
• Along with the day to day activities within your role, you will also be required to manage your health and safety responsibilities as set out in Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974, where it states that you have a duty to take care of yourself and those around you, by your acts or omissions and to cooperate with your employer on health and safety matters.

This list in by no means exhaustive but in short, your main responsibility is to take pride in the look and feel of the property – ensuring the standard is great for our residents.

You’ll need to have some experience ideally within maintenance, security or facilities with a proactive approach to solving problems. A relevant trade would give you the edge but is certainly not essential.
