A prominent legal recruitment firm seeks a Legal Assistant with property law expertise to provide temporary support to a busy team in Canterbury. This full-time role requires experience with InfinityLaw, excellent organizational skills, and immediate availability for 4-6 weeks. About the firm:
We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with a strong background in Property Law to support a busy, high-performing team within a well-respected Christchurch law firm. In this role, you'll be working closely with one partner in particular, known for their successful practice and friendly, approachable nature. This is a full-time, temporary assignment for approximately 4-6 weeks, providing vital support during a peak period.
You'll be working closely with Partners and fee earners, primarily within the Property team, offering top-tier PA and secretarial support. Experience with InfinityLaw is essential, and familiarity with IDM (document management system) will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Diary Management
Coordinate appointments, meetings, and deadlines; ensure all participants are well-prepared in advance.
File Management
Maintain and manage digital files through InfinityLaw; ensure documents and correspondence are saved and organised properly; send letters of engagement for new instructions.
Document Compilation & Dictation
Accurately compile documentation for settlements, meetings, and negotiations; transcribe and return dictation promptly.
Billing & Administration
Prepare draft bills and statements; manage digital and (minimal) physical filing systems; attend internal meetings to take minutes and circulate action points.
Deeds Management
Enter, scan, and link deeds in InfinityLaw with accuracy.
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in a property-focused team
Proficient in InfinityLaw (essential) and confident in digital file systems
Exceptionally well-organised, detail-oriented, and professional in your approach
Able to hit the ground running and adapt quickly to new environments
Available full-time for the next 1-1.5 months (starting ASAP)
