Job summary

GreenThumb Ltd in Lancaster is seeking a hands-on assistant to work with one of our Lawn Operatives on customer lawns. You will help with scarification, aeration, fertilisation and moss control, and assist with raking, grass collection and waste disposal to keep sites tidy and professional.

The role is temporary for two weeks, 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday, with a UK driving licence required for manual vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting a lawn operative on customer sites.
• Ability to operate yard machinery safely and assist with scarification/aeration.
• Excellent communication and timekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Visit a number of designated customers daily and assist the lawn operative.
• Assist with machinery to aerate and scarify lawns and remove waste to an acceptable level.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of all machinery at the end of a working period.
• Maintain standards of all health and safety practices, as supplied by GreenThumb Limited.
• Maintain the company vehicle cleanliness.
• Maintain the company uniform and replace as needed.
• Ensure a professional and smart appearance at all times.
• Carry out any other duties within the terms of the contract of employment.

About the role

This role involves working alongside one of our qualified Lawn Operatives on customer's lawns to help with the process of scarification, aeration, fertilisation and moss control. In general, you will be requested to rake lawns, pick up grass and other garden material- to bag it or move it to compost heaps or recycle bins, ensuring a professional, high level of service at all times.

Hours of work:

8 hours per day Monday - Friday

Contract Type:

Temporary for 2 weeks

Main duties:

• To visit a number of designated customers on a daily basis and assist the lawn operative.
• Provide assistance using the necessary machinery to aerate and scarify lawns and remove waste to an acceptable level.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and basic maintenance of all machinery at the end of a working period.
• Maintain standards of all health and safety practices, as supplied by GreenThumb Limited.
• Maintaining a high level of cleanliness of the company vehicle.
• Maintain the company uniform and replace as and when the need arises.
• Ensure a professional and smart appearance at all times.
• Carry out any other duties that may be considered relevant to the position within the terms of the contract of employment.
