Job summary

Wlp is seeking a friendly and efficient kitchen assistant for a temporary position at Pocklington Junior School in York. The role involves safe food preparation, assisting the school cook, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of food safety and the ability to work independently. This part-time role is for 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time.

Qualifications

We are looking for a friendly and efficient kitchen assistant on a temporary basis to work at Pocklington Junior School.

Core Purpose

• Safe preparation and food service
• Assist the school cook with the delivery of an exceptional food service in line with the requirements of food hygiene, health and safety and food safety management

Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Compliance with allergens
• Cleaning of kitchen equipment and dining hall (as appropriate)
• General kitchen and dining hall duties, including preparing and serving, moving and setting up furniture and clearing away equipment and tables.
