Job Summary/Overview
The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing expert advice and support on employee relations and HR practices across their business area, aiming to deliver excellent support and guidance.
This role involves supporting employees, managers, and the wider business to achieve optimal outcomes, balancing employee wellbeing with business needs. It requires a pragmatic, professional, and adaptable approach in a fast-paced contact centre environment, with skills in multi-tasking and prioritization.
The role adopts a comprehensive business partnering approach, collaborating with stakeholders across departments like Operational Delivery, Recruitment, Training, Workforce Management, Payroll, and others. It is essential to understand local and wider business needs and translate this into effective HR practices.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Support all day-to-day HR activities within the local site/business area.
- Engage with local stakeholders, employees, managers, and partner organizations to understand needs and develop targeted HR strategies.
- Monitor and analyze various people data and reports to identify trends and root causes, enabling quick and effective solutions.
- Collaborate to develop strategic HR plans that improve the working environment and maintain or improve KPI performance.
- Provide practical advice on employee relations issues such as grievances, disciplinary actions, absence, and performance management, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
- Coach managers to support their teams and mitigate risks.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including managers, HR teams, and partner organizations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, legislation, and regulations.
- Champion HR automation and process streamlining for efficiency.
- Stay updated on HR best practices, employment law, and case law developments.
- Identify opportunities to add value to the business.
- Maintain HR activity statistics and prepare reports for management.
- Support HR initiatives, projects, and change management activities, including TUPE and restructuring.
- Contribute to HR policy development and training for management.
- Participate in HR reviews and cyclical activities such as pay and policy reviews.
- Represent the HR function in meetings and complete administrative duties.
- Support the Head of HR Business Partnering as needed.
- Promote a high employee engagement culture through recognition and engagement programs.
- Adopt the Support First, Manage Later ethos when advising employees.
- Maintain open communication channels and demonstrate company values in all interactions.
- Support diversity, respect, and a zero-tolerance policy on unethical behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Main Job Requirements
Education and Training
- Formal qualification in HR (e.g., Certificate in Human Resource Practice, HR Management degree, or similar) or equivalent experience.
- Membership of CIPD or similar is preferable.
- Up-to-date employment law knowledge; Irish employment law knowledge is desirable.
Work Experience
- At least 2 years of HR experience in a contact centre environment or 3 years in a high-paced industry.
Certifications
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred.
