University of Hull is seeking a part-time Archives Customer Experience Advisor based at Hull History Centre to support Hull University Archives. The role focuses on assisting visitors with archives and local studies, and supporting education and outreach activities.

The post is on-site, 18.25 hours per week (Tue–Thu), with occasional Saturday work to cover opening times. End date is 14 February 2028 and informal queries can be directed to Sarah Pymer.

Responsibilities

• The postholder provides administrative and related duties to support Hull University Archives services for staff, students and Archivist colleagues.
• Focus is on customer service, helping users access archives and local studies material, and answering enquiries.
• Supports education and outreach programmes at the Centre, for example by selecting material for an exhibition or activity.
• Assists with compiling subject guides and online resources to support learning and teaching activities.
• Cataloguing and collections management work take place under the supervision of an Archivist.
