Temporary Receptionist

Location: St Andrews
Hourly Rate: 12.40
Contract Type: Temporary (Approx. 4 Months)
Working Pattern: 4 Days per Week (Rota Basis)

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • You will work 4 days per week on a flexible rota.

About the Role

We are looking for a professional and approachable Temporary Receptionist to join our team in St Andrews. This role is to cover a staff member undergoing surgery and is expected to last around 4 months. The working pattern is 4 days per week, with the rota varying weekly depending on staff holidays and business needs.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a busy, patient-facing environment. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and is confident working independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally, directing enquiries to the appropriate team members
  • Greeting patients and visitors with a warm and welcoming attitude, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Managing appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling using internal systems
  • Handling cash and card payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records
  • Maintaining patient records, filing documents, and ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times
  • Supporting general administrative tasks, such as scanning, photocopying, and data entry
  • Monitoring stock levels of front desk supplies and requesting replenishments when needed
  • Liaising with internal staff to coordinate schedules and ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Maintaining a tidy and organised reception area, ensuring it reflects a professional environment
